Service Standards

The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation is committed to providing service to its clients according to defined service standards and regularly measures whether or not these commitments are being met.

Our shared responsibilities

The achievement of Service Standards is a shared responsibility between the Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation and its clients; and it is highly dependent upon the submission of all required documentation to departmental staff in a timely fashion. Service Standard commitments vary to reflect the unique requirements of departmental programs and services including:

General inquiries

  • By telephone: Typically, the department will respond immediately or a call will be returned within one business day.
  • By mail: Typically, the department will respond within two weeks upon receipt of mail.
  • By email: Typically, the department will respond immediately or an email will be responded to within one business day of receipt.

Questions

The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation measures its performance and is committed to publishing the service standards results annually. Results will be published at: www.TCII.gov.nl.ca.

Business Counselling
The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation will provide access to an on-site development officer upon request if one is available, or will make an appointment to meet within two business days.

Business Loan Funding
The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation’s goal is to make a funding decision within seven weeks of the date all required documents from the applicant are received.

Regional Development Funding
The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation’s goal is to make a Regional Development Fund decision within 11 weeks of the date all required documentation from the applicant is received. For the Community Capacity Building program, the decision will, on average, be made within six weeks.

Arts Funding
The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation’s goal is to make a funding decision within 12 weeks of the date all required documentation from the applicant is received.

Heritage Funding
The Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation’s goal is to make a funding decision within eight weeks of the date all required documentation from the applicant is received.

Grant Programs with Deadlines
For grant programs that have application deadlines, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation’s goal is to make a funding decision within 12 weeks of the program published deadline date and upon receipt of the completed application.
